Raquel Belo

Junior Consultant

With her passion for social, environmental and governance issues, Raquel uses her international background in public affairs and corporate sustainability to analyse the EU policy framework and provide strategic advice to NOVE's clients.

Prior to joining NOVE, Raquel was based in Germany where she was an intern at the Corporate Sustainability department at PUMA SE, assisting in the monitoring of corporate and ESG requirements for businesses. This is Raquel’s second stint in Brussels, having previously worked for the European Commission as a Blue Book Trainee in the Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW). While at the Commission, her work centred around the Recovery and Resilience Facility Plans of various Member-States.

Raquel has a Bachelors Degree in International Relations from the University of Lisbon (ISCSP), a Masters of Arts in International Governance and Politics from Aston University in Birmingham, UK as well as a Masters of Arts in Political Sciences with a focus in Complex Technological Systems from the University of Bamberg, Germany. Throughout her academic career, Raquel specialized in the topic of Sustainability, with a particular interest in the normative effect of sustainability legislation efforts in the shifting corporate and public interests, and how these can be leveraged to tackle the climate crisis.
